Sector 4 is a quarantined zone covering approximately 15% of the northern hemisphere of Xylos. It was the epicenter of The Great Dissonance in 2199. Before the disaster, it was the primary industrial hub for the planet; now, it is a forbidden wasteland where the laws of physics are unreliable.
Due to extreme Chronosite saturation, the local time in Sector 4 flows at roughly 0.8x the speed of the rest of the planet, though this fluctuates wildly. Pockets of "fast time" can age a person to dust in seconds, while "slow time" pockets can trap explorers for centuries. The area is also filled with pools of Lumin-Water.
The perimeter is guarded by the Obsidian Council's elite forces. Despite this, "Stalkers" frequently sneak in to scavenge pre-disaster technology or rare Chronosite variants. It is widely rumored that Dr. Aris Thorne maintains a laboratory deep within the sector, shielded from the temporal storms.
Drones sent into the center of Sector 4 usually transmit images of a giant crystalline structure before losing signal, leading to the legend of the "Time Spire."
